It is known for its tranquility, with bamboo gardens and natural forests adding to its wild beauty. The path leading to Kanthanpara waterfalls is often more beautiful than the falls itself. You can trek through the tea gardens on both sides of the waterfall or go for a two-hour trek along the banks of the Kanthanpara river. The area is close to the Meppadi forest range under the South Wayanad Forest Division and is a paradise for birdwatchers. Malabar Gray Hornbill, Common Flameback Woodpecker, White-cheeked Barbet and White-Throated Kingfisher are some of the rare birds found here. Located on Vaduvanchal road, the waterfall is 8 km from Meppadi and 19 km from Kalpetta.
